Default What Version of Excel is this?

I have created the program in chapter 9 to allow saving reports as files on the local machine.

It seems to work properly except...

When I chose Excel I get to view what looks like the underlying instructions, not an excel spreadsheet. The other formats seem to work fine.

I get the same result using the web interface.

I use Office 2000, is this not the file format for excel?

If not is there a way to tell the application to use an older excel format?

The version is XP and above. There is a new service pack download available at

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

That should solve your problem.

Thanks.

It worked like a charm. Fixed my Excel questions and a few other odd things as well.
