Default win server 2003 problem

hi,
i had i site on win server 2000 pro and everything was OK. few days ago i move it on the win 2003 standard server and some pages stop working. the smallest code which don`t work is this:

this is connection on the base:
<%
Dim WSCONN_STRING
 WSCONN_STRING = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("\_private\database.mdb")

Dim RS
set RS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
RS.ActiveConnection = WSCONN_STRING

Dim dbcmd
Set dbcmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
dbcmd.ActiveConnection = WSCONN_STRING
%>

and this is one of the codes which don`t work any more:

<%
   Dim i
   i = Request.Item("id")
       dbcmd.CommandText = "delete from orders where id=" & i
      dbcmd.execute
   dbcmd.activeConnection.close
   Set dbcmd = Nothing
   Response.Redirect("orders.asp")
%>

my server is configured werry strange and i dont see error mesage so i don`t have a clue what is wrong.

Slavni,

What is the error that you see, when you mean "stop working"

Cheers

that is "funny". my server is configured so he mask error. I get just one message: "...to contact administrator..." and sometimes "no page found - error 500". It is german STRATO.de win server. So the message is on german too (Es trat ein Script-Fehler auf wohrend die URL bearbeitet wurde. Bitte informieren Sie den Webseiten-Administrator.)

If i can somehow enable some option to show friendly error it will be much easier. On my comp with win XP and default IIS everything works great. On web server 2000 profesional everything is working too, and that is my bigest confusion. I`m ASP beginer and this is so frustrating for me. I have to migrate all site in few next days...any help is appreciated.

PS: a have complite administration over the server, if that can help, to change some settings....

Hi Slavni,

A couple of thoughts...

I take it that at least some of your asp pages are working, if not you need to enable asp from the web service extensions node of the tree in the internet services manager.

IIS6 comes with "Enable parent paths" disabled, this often causes problems with code that ran on IIS5, try enabling it & see if it makes any difference (websites node of tree -> properties -> home directory -> configuration -> options)

HTH,

Chris

no it`s not that i try it. but when i was there i see option to enable full error send to the client.
my error was " ODBC Drivers error '80004005' ".

and the solution of the problem was to give user inetrnet account full permision over the folder where the database.mdb file is store.

now everything is working fine. Thnx to everybody.
