Default Help needed to find or develop a 'Postmaster'

Im an intern at a media company. Im asked to find a way to improve the emailing system of the company. The needed flow is such that whatever emails that are received by the company, they want it to be in one mailbox, and an alert will automatically be sent to the right recipients only (not to everyone). This is suppose to not clog up the individual's mailbox & the individuals getting information that is only relevant to their dept.

Would anyone know how to develop this (any language) or are there any good existing systems tht are sold in the market that meets these requirements?

Hmmm. You want this to work the opposite way that an alias works and I am not sure if any email server software can handle that. What you potentially would have to do is write a program that would monitor mailbox X and then turn around and send an email to any user that the email is relevant to. Problem is, this doesn't stop the user from having a cluttered mailbox as they will still recieve 1 email for every email recieved that pertains to them.

Seems kind of pointless to me.

Thanks for the reply. At least they just recieve 1 of every mail that pertains to them. Currently, they receive more than 1 since a few ppl in the company receives that particular email and all who recieve feels that ppl should know, thus just sending to all employees (it's easier to just click on 'Send to All' then to select one by one who should receive it).

Do you think there'll be any software in the market that helps in such situations? Really appreciate your help :)
