Default Sql 2000 enterprise edition(64bit) install probs

I tried to install SQL Server 2000 64 bit edition on
OS - windows 2003 server R2 enterprise edition (64 bit)
but i got an error message.

"SQL 2K 64bit setup.exe is valid,but is for a machine type other than the current machine"

setup is not working..

Any one please help me.

I don't know about the requirements for SQL Server 2000, but have you looked to see what the minimum hardware and software requirements are for SQL Server 2000 64 bit? That might tell you something. That information should be in the documentation, or even on the MS website...

It looks like you are trying to install the 64 bit version of SQL Server on a computer which is not a 64bit processor...
