Of course you're completely free to return the book (although I don't believe the "for something more usable" part as the book *is* useful, as many others have reported), I honestly believe you could have made this work.
The problem you ran into is simply a configuration problem. Once you fix that, things should work as many others have reported. Maybe after that you ran into another problem that *may* have been easy to fix as well. But, we'll never know, as you never came back to the site with follow up questions.
Personally, I don't think "still no workie" is a fair judgement on the book, and the support you get here. Good luck with "something more usable". You'll probably return that too....
