This is the first time you mention images. Did you upload them to the remote server from within Dreamweaver?

Like I said earlier, I haven't written the MediaEdge section, so I can't help much.

However, I know the website is configurable through records in the database. I hate to ask it, but what happens when you use the downloaded database? Does that database have the same problems? Only then can you see where the error lies: configuration, or a code error.

BTW: How did you fix the previous problem?

Hi Imar
The Database is exactly the same, i do know the datbase does alter the final view and working, I just cant get fram2a thru 2d to work on there own, everything sems to copied from frame1a it seems most certainly to be the database thats how i'm totally lost.
It was a line on one of the connection strings that was incorrect..

The database that comes with the book has only 34 records, spread over 4 tables, so it shouldn't be impossible to spot the difference between your settings and the default setting.

Maybe there's an error in the Section_Content table that binds content to sections?

The Database are identical, i cant understand why the frames 2a-2d are identical in what they are doing and pointing to same as that of frame1a and not individualy working, in the the sections_Nav data there is a ID for the top left block yet there is no block mentioned for the other 4, a line is also in the sections data for a top left block but no mention of blocks for the other 4 again
so as you can see this database has me stumped....

When I run the final web site that comes with the book, this is what I get:

Upper left hand frame:
http://localhost/blockContent.asp?se...true&width=166

Large frame with logo
http://localhost/buildingBlock.asp?section=8

Four small sub frames:
http://localhost/blockContent.asp?se...true&width=165
http://localhost/blockContent.asp?se...true&width=165
http://localhost/blockContent.asp?se...true&width=165
http://localhost/blockContent.asp?se...true&width=165

The content for the upper left had frame and the four frames are identical.

However, if you change some records in the table Sections_Nav, you'll see the query strings change. Then you need to look at blockContent.asp to see what content is retrieved from the database for what ID.

If you can cantact the author of this site (MEDIAEDGE) and query, how frames2a-2d are able to point to their respective links and not the links of frame1a as is happening at the moment....

regards Mike

I can try, but I haven't spoken to him in a long time, so I doubt that would give any results.

But like I said earlier: the links point to stuff you define in the Sections_Nav table. Did you try modifying some records there? When you did, did you see the query string values changes for frame 2a to 2d?

Yes I see exactly What you are seeing on those frames, Do you think the Content.asp page has only been set up to
allow only one frame ie frame1a to have links going from it? if i change the numbers as suggested then only when I click links in frame1a then example frame2a changes with images from what ever is clicked...
As i said earlier there is a top left block in the sections table but no ID's for the other blocks so surely if there are no ID's then only the links in frame1a as being the top left block will work. the links showing in the other 4 blocks when left in original state do exactly the same as those in frame1a (TOP LEFT BLOCK).

Regards Mike
